Infrastructure as Code platform

Everything-as-code with Terraform and configuration management — reproducible, drift-free environments and self-service golden paths teams can build on.

Principle
Everything as code
State
Drift-free environments
Enablement
Self-service golden paths

Overview

Environments were built and changed by hand — slow to stand up, inconsistent between teams, and impossible to reproduce reliably. The goal was to make infrastructure and configuration fully code-defined, so environments are repeatable, reviewable, and free of drift.

The pattern combines infrastructure as code with configuration management, versioned from a reusable base, and exposes it as self-service golden paths so teams ship safely without reinventing the platform each time.

The challenge

Our approach

  1. Defined all infrastructure as code with Terraform, using CloudFormation where an AWS-native capability required it
  2. Standardised server and application configuration with Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
  3. Versioned a reusable base so every environment derives from a known-good template
  4. Published self-service golden paths and wired CI/CD with GitOps so teams ship safely without reinventing the platform

It reflects standard, proven cloud-engineering practice rather than a specific named client engagement, and outcomes are described qualitatively.
